As a lyricist, Rodgers joined the Bluesrocker Free in 1968.
They topped the international radio charts in 1970 with the Rodgers song “All Right Now,” which also featured the group’s bassist, Andy Fraser.
In 1990, ASCAP was awarded for receiving more than 1 million radio plays in the United States. It was the #1 hit in more than 20 different countries.
Led Zeppelin and Free were the two best-selling bands in the UK for a brief period of time, albeit Free did not maintain that position.
