Tiffany Haddish, a comedian and actress, has released a statement on social media in response to claims of sexual assault made against her.
On August 30, a 22-year-old woman named Jane Doe filed a lawsuit against Tiffany in the Los Angeles County Superior Court of California on behalf of herself and her younger brother, a juvenile named John Doe.
Jane alleged that the actress “groomed” the plaintiffs, leaving them “traumatized for life,” in court records acquired by People.
Jane claims that Tiffany took her to the filming of a “sexually suggestive Subways commercial” when she was 14 and taught her how to engage in impermissible sexual actions while there.
After being mentioned in the molestation case, Tiffany has finally spoken out for the first time, posting a statement on Instagram on September 5.

But while this routine was meant to be comedic, she noted, “it wasn’t funny at all, and I regret having agreed to act in it. As soon as I can, I truly hope to be able to talk a lot more about this scenario.
Attorney Andrew Brettler for the comedian vehemently refuted the lawsuit’s allegations.
He added the plaintiff’s mother “has been trying to bring these baseless claims against Ms. Haddish for numerous years” in a statement to Vanity Fair regarding the lawsuit.
Every lawyer who initially took on her case — and there were a number of them — eventually dropped it after it was obvious that the allegations were baseless and Ms. Haddish would not be blackmailed, he added.
“Now, Ms. Morris’ adult daughter is defending herself in this action,” he continued. The results of taking this pointless action will be something they both have to deal with.
